Alrighty fellow hunters.......I need to decide how to have my moose mounted. Please post pics of moose mounts if you have them to give me some ideas. What are the pros and cons of different mounts for fitting in a house?? I have vaulted cielings.....though they are not hugely vaulted (if that makes sense). I was thinking a sneak pose but am also considering a pedistal mount. Also considering a wall pedistal with scenery. I have a few months to decide but would love to see pics pics to see what looks good.
I did a search for similar threads and all I found are over 10 years old with pics that wont show up. If there is a more recent thread....let me know.
Thanks in advance.

forgot to mention.....if you don't want your pic on the web but are willing to text a pic, let me know in a PM. I can PM my number and promise not to forward or post the picture anywhere. I too don't like posting some pics to the web.

Lucky you getting to decide how to mount your moose. I hope some people chime in I'd like to see them. Maybe someday I'll get to hunt a moose? Probably in Canada
-
Not a lot of variety with moose mounts. Make sure your door into your house is big enough to get it through
-
Jrebel, which taxi are you using for the moose?
-
This is a buddys place in WY, over the couch, thought it was very cool

Hopefully Lokidog will chime in with a picture of his moose mount. Got to see it in person and it’s a great pose that seems to conserve space a little bit.

With that said, they have this cool way to have the antlers come off while transporting , then they plug right back in when on the wall.👍

Mine was a Canadian moose. I still have not draw in Washington and likely never will. I'm in the same boat as most Washingtonians......if you want a moose go to Alaska or Canada.

This was a question I ask the taxi today. He said Moose are not a problem with standard 36" doors and that elk can be a much bigger problem.

Jeff Reeves with Tru to Life Taxidermy in East Wenatchee. He has been my taxidermist for the last 8-10 years and does a great job.

That was a great moose you got in Canada? What outfitter did you go with?
-
Had taxi shorten neck on form by almost a foot to fit better.

MadMax....I like the sneak and am considering that pose. I would like a little more left or right hand turn and may get it with a wall pedestal.
@lokidog Would love to see it if you have pics.

thats a dandy mount

I really like the pedestal style mounts. I don't really have the room for a true pedestal so was thinking about a wall pedestal with scenery. I have a pic of a wall pedestal in the sneak pose and it looks pretty good. I will find it an post it.

Hope this works posting from my phone. Found this on the internet and thought it looked pretty cool. Put some scenery behind it and it would be amazing.
Thoughts?

If you had the room/spot, it would be awesome

Here’s mine. The door was definitely a chore to get through.

I really like that. That looks like a wall pedestal.....correct? I like how it turns the mount so it does not hang so far off the wall.
thanks for posting too.

Ya I think it’s a wall ped. Tru fit is the brand of the form I think. It still sticks out a pretty long ways.
