How has the late archery season been the last few years in the Tibbetts Mt./Swakane gmu 250 area mule deer?
-
Weather dependent. Last 4 days of the season this year I seen more nice bucks then the rest of the season. Lots of road hunters and terrible roads

Lots and Lots of road hunters
Getting crazy
-
Overall I would say very disappointing our crew only saw 2 legal not large bucks during the season, however did not hunt the last three days.
-
Yes very slow. Just like the rest of the state not as good as it used to be. Not many does to be bred.
-
Tons of hunters. No snow. No bucks.
-
More people than there are deer.
-
From my experience I seen 90% of the people either road hunting or hiking out ridges and not glassing/still hunting. My bud shot a decent 160’s buck we watched for 4 days, in those 4 days 5 hunters walked within 100 yards of him and didn’t see him, and none of them stopped in the 2 mile stretch of ridge line we could see to glass once. In that country you gotta spend time behind glass

:yeah: to everything above. We do it because it is a family tradition not because it is good hunting by any means. It is just awesome to be out with family and friends in the old stomping grounds. We would see a legal deer or two a day and a decent 140-150" deer every 3-4 days.
Typical of the rest of the state, not what it used to be in the early 80's up until probably the mid 90's. I would say it really got bad the last 6-8 years.
