Someone told me lings are great tasting. Never would have thought that from the looks of them. Maybe I'll give it a try some time.

They are very good... make amazing fish and chips  ;) and you are right they are ugly and have huge sharp teeth

I found a way to stun lings to get the hooks out. Just slid you hand under thier gill plate and lift. They don't move. Found this out by accident one day with a 25 pound ling..

I hoping to get out a few times this year at Westport. Maybe do a little camping at Twin Harbor State Park..

Hunterman, don't they have a very sharp gill plate in there?

Somebody messed up on the weather report. It;s about the niceest day westport has had all year. There is a 4 foot swell in the ocean today  the town is full of people today.

My concern was the forecast was 1-3 foot waves with 10-20 knot winds.  That is an average every day forecast for out there and I can't understand how a guide is cancelling trips based on that report.  Maybe I'm missing something but it seems wierd.  Maybe he had a hot date?

Well, I got the boat out of storage and it had a lot of green and mildew growing on it.  Crazy how that can happen in just a few months.  Cleaned it good but didn't get anything substantive done on it.
