Title: What are you making for the Superbowl
Post by: Twispriver on January 29, 2020, 01:26:00 PM
I was thinking about some barbequed kabobs, smoked salmon and my "soon to be famous" elk burger sliders to go along with chips, salsa and homemade pickled beans.

Providing beverages and smoked brisket sliders and slaw. Everyone else is bringing an appetizer to share. It is a great excuse to have people over...a little less stress with the Hawks not playing but still whish they were in it. Looking forward to the commercials too. Lame line-up for halftime but oh well. I love Super Bowl Sunday

Elk chili, topped with chopped sweet onions and a handful of shredded sharp cheddar, and, a big pan of honey cornbread. I think Mrs. Wapiti is pondering some finger snacks (Queso dip n; chips, sliced veggies n' cream cheese, not sure?).

I try and match the regional cuisine of wherever the Super Bowl is being played.... so this year I'm thinking Cubanos and spanish rice/black beans/fried plantains.  I'll also probably have moose sliders and some wings.  Ads and a Chiefs win would be good.  Halftime show is a blah from me.

The actual halftime show is when you hit the restroom and restock supplies. Commercials breaks are usually better than the halftime show anyways. I'm just hoping for a good game and not a blow out.  Blow outs are only fun when your team is playing.  :chuckle:

Sounds like Hot Wings, meatballs for subs, chips, dips, should be a great spread! For a very good hors d'oeuvre, try this.

Nacho cheese doritos
Frito-Lay bean dip
A dab of Red Devil hot sauce.

That's it... Delicious...your welcome! House favorite around our place.

Cooked during the night smelled awesome, tastes a little bland this morning, I don’t taste the cocoa either.

At least she’ll have something to eat at the clubs chili cook off, and I’ll get to taste them all.😉

Elk and blacktail chili. Hank Shaw inspired japense elk meatballs, back wrapped scallops with homemade teriyaki. And a whiskey sour... glaze(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200203/c41d07be6cfa5291cf925fd4b9fd3dbb.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200203/f00e5d21c04d615876bb13ac1d02a6ff.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200203/3e5d5743f73e0d38888de7fc4bb9d077.jpg)

I did a tri-tip roast on the smoker.  225 until the IT hit 135, then pulled it and put it in foil.  Cranked the smoker to high, and when it hit temperature I took the roast out of the foil and put it back on for four minutes a side.  Salt, pepper, and Musket Powder.

The wife didn’t place in the cook off, but a buddy of mines wife mad a killer elk chili with jalapeño poppers in it that was killer, she didn’t place either. But it was the best there.

The judges this year liked the sweet chili’s better.🤔

Chicken wings... Tasty, extra easy recipe... Dredge and fry your wings in flour seasoned with salt, pepper and Asian 5 spice. When done coat in a mixture of 1/3 cup bbq sauce, 1/3 cup soy and 1/3 cup honey that has been cooked and reduced... Yum!
