Same thing is gonna happen here in Washington this fall too on the olympic peninsula with our mt. goats. The more Park and wilderness we allow  the more control we lose to the tree huggers and hippies and instead of hunting being used as management in those areas we go to crazy extremes that make no sense..

It's the funny stuff that humans do.  Goats are not truly "native" anywhere, for any specific place, if you go back far enough there were no goats there.  In fact, there were only goats there for an incredibly tiny window in history.

We pick an arbitrary point in history and say that that day is magical and perfect and whatever was there on that day is right and whatever was not there should be removed.  The real question should be what makes sense today considering all of the factors and priorities?

Must be more to this story...seems like the WY delegation would have strong pull in this Administration.  On its face, makes no sense to not use hunters, even in a National park.

The park service created this problem in Wyoming and Washington by not allowing goats to be hunted in the park as the population increased.
The park service has the ablility to allow hunting and to set rules for hunting.
They do want hunting because they don't like hunters.
So they higher killers to shoot the from aircraft and let them rot.

They say its because they are non-native.
Are they removing pheasant, horses, or any other of the many non-native animals? NO.

Wow that is just crazy, why not just open up a hunting season and let people go in there for a hunt and collect meat... Can't stand when anyone let's meat go to waste!

I bet a smart person could find a point in time where there were no southern resident orcas in Puget Sound.  What fun that would be.
