How are raffle sales looking this year compared to last year? I'm not tracking any of them but they seem to have pretty good sales so far. For those that do track I'm curious if this is true or whether it is just perception.
-
Last year on 6/17 these are what the sales were.
3 deer 247
NE combo 282
SC combo 1002
SE combo 628
NC combo 1750
BT 329
MD 853
WT 424
WE 1005
EE 2400
Sheep 2154
Moose 1358
MG 1602
Pretty much everything is up and some up by a lot. There are three that are down but my guess is that will change this week because of draw results and people are looking for a new option.
-
They started off pretty slow but there getting up there like always
-
I'm going to guess there will be records set in most categories this year, sales are cooking!!!
-
Yep, eastern elk is almost double what it was this time last year. Of course the auction tag went for a record level this year so whoever was bidding it up and didn't get it is now playing the raffle game I am sure. I think most auctions went for record levels so that means that whoever lost has tons of money to dump into the raffles and we aren't even to the last week when numbers normally skyrocket.
The other thing is I feel like there are a lot of guys that didn't get drawn for anything this year and are spending $40-$100 bucks on raffles hoping to the be the winner.
You can't win if you don't have a ticket.
-
Idaho super hunt raffle/apps were up 60-80% over last year...I suspect that trend is playing out elsewhere.
-
I noticed that there was a bit of a surge in sales for some of the tickets about a week and a half ago. For one category it took from early January to mid June to make it to 1,000 tickets, then a 25% increase in a week which is now at about 34% (over two weeks). Seems to be less holding back this year. Also noticed that the timber company permits went faster than normal this year, so fast for one that the server was crashed.
-
When do they do the raffle draws
-
About a month from now.
-
End of July
-
Oh really is that the same as Idaho
-
Where do you find your raffle ticket #s? All I see on my wdfw login is how many of each I bought, I cannot find actual ticket numbers anywhere.
-

they are on the receipt
-
So the receipt should have a list of raffle numbers on it? I've got it here in front of me and am not seeing anything like that. It's got a transaction code and that's it other than the usual credit card transaction info etc..
-
Below the transaction number should be customer name. Next line should be what raffle and the last line should be ticket numbers or numbers.
-
When is deadline to buy raffles?
-
Weird none of that is on my receipt. Purchased from sportsman's warehouse. But my wdfw account shows the purchase. I am assuming my account is somehow connected to the raffle numbers since they contact the winners. But would still be nice to see the numbers themselves.
-
Paper receipt
-
This is the only receipt I got.
-
There should be two print outs from the WDFW receipt machine. One is theirs for scanning to the register and the other is yours--with your numbers and which category.
-
When is deadline to buy raffles?
Jul 15
-
Well thanks for the input
-
That is your purchase receipt they should have given you the one from the license machine also. They tried to throw mine away thinking I didn’t need it. If you used your wild ID to purchase you will be able to check when results come out.
-
I had this problem too. I purchased mine from fred meyer and asked where the raffle numbers were? The lady told me they dont print them out anymore and they are all online. When I went online to check them I could not find them. Does anyone know how to find your numbers under your wdfw profile?
-
I can't find the page, but there is a lookup option I've seen in the past. You would put in your WildID number and it showed how many and numbers. After the raffle, it would show how you placed and which WildIDs got what and how many they bought, etc.
-

I bought mine at a Fred Meyer and got my numbers. I would call WDFW and ask them what the numbers are.

Numbers are climbing daily

Looks like they slowed down a bit this past week didn't they?

East side elk almost 6200

I got my 6 in a couple different categories, good luck to the small guys!!!!
-
Big sales this year, glad i didnt dump any significant money. Im thinking some peoples stimulus money went to tickets this year.
-
Good chance most will hit record highs this year if they arent already and this is the week that numbers really climb.
-
East side elk almost 6200

It was at 5,700 last week so 500 in a week isn't bad. Last year I think there were 4,253 sold at this time, 6,000 sold at the last update and 13,512 by the time they close sales.
This is going to be a record year for sure. I agree with Bango, I think stimulus money is playing a role in this.
-
Even blacktail is really high.
-
Can a raffle tag holder hunt CA Bighorn Sheep on MT Hull?
yes
-
where do you see the current number of tickets sold?

Wow, youre not jokin! Whitetail is way higher than normal too, but damn the east elk tickets are going crazy. If i was home before the deadline i think id buy 1 elk ticket, just for laughs if i could be "that guy"

I talked to wdfw. If there is a transaction showing on your wdfw account then your tickets are linked to your account and if you win they will contact you. The only way to get the actual raffle numbers is to go back in to the store you purchased at and they may be able to reprint, but she wasn't positive they could.

When’s the draw

Deadline to buy is July 15th, results should be out by end of the month is my guess.

You can add a couple more on the total for the raffle. I just put my name in the pot for a few
-
Wow, bad year to be heavily invested in the raffle!
-
Wow, over 14,000 in for east elk, over 84,000 dollars made so far. I need to see this bull!!

Auction tag went for $84,000 also and was spinning higher when time expired. No telling how high it would have gone.
Pretty sure raffle sales will be a record this year.
Bidding $83,000 on the auction and losing you still have the $83,000 in your pocket. Buying $48,000 worth of raffle tickets in a day and losing to a guy who bought three you are out $48,000. That is gonna sting.

All depends on how much money you have and make. The guy making $1.5 Million a year isn't to worried about spending $83,000 for an auction tag or $50,000 for a few raffle tickets if elk hunting is his or hers favorite thing to do! Its all in perspectives. Now that is way more than I would or could pay but then again, I don't make that kind of money either. ;) With all that said, horn growth in the Blue's should be phenomenal this year with all the moisture and mild winter we had.

I agree, but I would much rather pay $85,000 to win than to pay $50,000 in raffle tags for a chance.
-
I've never put in for the raffles before... One thing I wasn't quite sure if I am clear on:
Let's say I put in for the Deer - Black-tailed raffle. Is this any weapon for the entire duration of the Sept 1- Dec 31 Season Date? Or is it whatever weapon within the pre-determined weapon seasons? Or something different.

Any weapon during that time period but you have to be in a unit that is open for a general or permit season at some point. If it is open for deer in November for archery you can hunt december 15th with a rifle.

Well I donated to the cause would love to say I pulled a East side elk tag for under a 100 bucks😜

I’m curious if the same guy who bought all the eastside elk tickets is the same one who dropped the coin in the south central

You have to purchase at a retailer? There is no online option to purchase? Correct?

correct. Online was ended when the casinos got all the online gambling shut down.

Now that the deadline has passed, does anyone have a pic of the bull that's so special on the east side. ?
-
With the money that was spent on the auction tag and the raffle I’m pretty those buyers don’t want photos out until one of them is on the ground. Spring and summer have been pretty moist. Small shower once a week for most of spring and early summer. Antler growth across the board is pretty good on the east side this year.
If pics come out now it will be more of a battle than it is already going to be.
-
Hopefully it leaks, I'd like to see it and I don't care what the buyer thinks.

No hard feelings at all. I just meant that they pay for the raffle or the auction, they get the tag and that's as far as the privilege goes... well until that one time :chuckle:

So the drawing has been done?? Does that mean they will post the winning numbers soon?? Since I didn't draw anything, for any state, this is my first year getting raffle tickets. I'm assuming since you got the call about your tag, they must call the winner before posting online.
Thanks. Still in shock. Time to get in shape
-
Yes sometimes it takes a couple of days to get ahold of all of the winners. Results should be out soon.
-

If you don’t mind how many tickets did you buy?

I am not sure but I think there are.

Can anyone confirm either way?

I can later this coming week. I’ll post after I confirm.

How fricken long does it take to put the 2020 raffle results up on the website!! I'm sure everyone has been called by now, I'd love to see where I landed with my 6 tickets. :chuckle:

Results are online now on wdfw website. Good Luck Everyone and Congrats to those who drew.

Good now people can go run the numbers on the winners and bellyache about how many tickets the "whales" bought.... :chuckle: raffles brought crazy money this year. Was it bored people at home spending covid money or just one of those years :dunno: I spent zippo so dont even need to look..

I bought some but still won't bother looking. Doesnt matter how close I was. In the words of Ricky Bobby, "if you ain't first you're last."

I was only like 1,000 off last year. If only I'd bought a 1k more :bash:

Where are you seeing that? I see the winning tickets listed but can't find where you look up your tickets. Clicking on the link it takes you to the licensing page but I don't see where I can enter my ticket number to check.
-
Well, there goes the theory of buying early... :dunno: :bash: Still got a shot at leftover MS tags.
-
I bought mine 2,200 tickets too late. >:(
FYI the way numbers work is for example Steve buys two mule tickets, gets number 140113 and 140114. Scott is in line behind Steve and buys 100 moose tickets he gets numbers 140115-140214. At another store Erik buys 100 three deer tickets and gets numbers 140215-140314. This goes on all week and Steve decides to by 2 more mule deer tickets and gets 144113 and 144114 thinking that 4,000 mule deer tickets have been sold since his last purchase but that isn't true. 4,000 raffle tickets total have been sold but that is across all categories.
-
Whoever won the north central bought early.
If I remember correct that was the first category to see the really big jump in sales early on.
-
So the results of the winning tickets are posted. They call the winners and confirm they want the permit. If they can't get ahold of them on the phone they send an email. If they don't get a response to the email in 15 days they contact the next winning ticket. Once all of the winners have accepted the permits they post the lookup page.
As of right not 12 of the 13 permits are spoken for. One lucky winner hasn't answered the phone or responded to the email, clock is ticking on that one permit. It may actually go to the second drawn ticket. They hope to have the lookup tab posted next week.
I don't know what permit it is that they are waiting on.
Bottom line, I am saying you have a chance.
-
Thanks for the report rainier, looking forward to looking up my numbers.

You only put in for Westside elk? Someone said that one was gone correct?
I am hoping I still have a chance at Eastside elk. I haven't heard about that one yet, maybe there is a chance.
-
I only bought 6 tickets in about 4 different categories, east elk was one.
-
All I see in this thread is Goat, Westside Elk and 3 Deer have been notified. I heard rumors the NE combo is gone as well. That leaves 9 or 10 categories open.
Anyone know of any other permits that are off the table?

More to life than HuntWa? That's crazy talk.
Only one member has said they have a permit. The other two that have chimed in don't have the permit they only know that a person was contacted so you don't have to come on here for it to be known that the permit is spoken for.

@Bango skank hasn't chimed in. Maybe he won the whitetail raffle.
-
No call for me. Only bought a few tickets this year. 10 whitetail, 10 moose, 1 northeast combo. And since the buck i was planning on making a move on this year seems to have gotten himself dead i dont even think ill hunt deer in washington this year. I have an idaho deer tag. Just stick with predator hunting in wa for this season most likely.
-
just checked my tickets, closest i came this year was rank 26. In a way thats better than last year when i had the rank 2 & 3 tickets.
-
Ok dumb question. I followed the link here: https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/special-hunts/raffles/results but don't see on the website where to actually check tickets. What am I missing?
-
Go to the login page, dont log in. Scroll down there will be a box with a sheep pic that says check raffle tickets. Click that, type in one of your ticket numbers.

Since this is in the deer section did anyone notice that the mule deer winner bought 2,000/ $12,000 worth of tickets?
There was some crazy money spent this year on raffles. I am dying to see what the final numbers ended up being.

Since this is in the deer section did anyone notice that the mule deer winner bought 2,000/ $12,000 worth of tickets?
There was some crazy money spent this year on raffles. I am dying to see what the final numbers ended up being.
Did you see how much the n.e. winner spent?
I heard 3 tickets. Haven’t confirmed that yet

It is nice to see a mix of big spenders and small spenders all getting a win. I think it gives everyone hope whether you are spending a ton or a little, everyone has a chance.

Wish I hadnt thrown away my tickets, I guess I'll never know how close I was to winning lol.

I mistyped in one of my numbers and saw that someone out there bought only one westside elk and came in #3.
I tried the early and often strategy, starting in early Jan and only getting a couple a week. Lowest was 42.
