Title: Trolling depth charts for plugs?
Post by: carpsniperg2 on July 20, 2020, 10:38:42 PM
Hey all,

Does anyone know if such a thing is out there on the net? For like wiggle warts/mag lips etc. Is there any charts that say if you use x pound line with a 3.5 mag lip and let out x amount of feet. Your plug will be running at x feet deep? I have seen charts like this before but not for plugs. Anyone know of any?

Yes there is. Haven't used them yet. Still kicking the can. Precision trolling will get you in the ball park. There was an app I’m trying to think of. Was like $125 for lifetime subscription in upgrades. Can’t seem to recall what it is if I do I’ll post it for you.

Precision Trolling Data (PTD) is a downloadable app available on your phone.  I have it on mine as when I do longline plugs when boat fishing in the summertime.  Carpsniper mentioned the price for the lifetime download for all current and future data.

Sweet I’ll have to try to get some data from them. I only need 2-3 different plugs so looks like you can buy them for 1.99 or 2.99. Now have to try to remember my apple acc info  :yike:

I got the app and bought half a dz lures. Its pretty nice. The only lame thing is most have only have data with like 2 line types, both 10lb test. However my 30lb braid is almost a match to the 10 lb so it will get much much closer then a wild guess lol. I'm sure my 50lb braid will run shallower with more drag in the water so will have to play with that a little.
