You hit the nail on the head. The areas that hold deer in the early season are sparse and limited. Get yourself a couple game cameras, find the areas with cover/water/food and start scouting. The higher areas in those units that are easy to get to get a lot of pressure.

Don't know much about the areas, but a quick search on OnX and I found some springs.  Probably hold vegetation and water. :dunno:
