Pretty bear. Enjoying some late cherries?
-
I was too high for cherries. Not sure what they were eating. Stripping bark I think.
-
Boy that sure looked like a cherry tree. Been wrong before though. A few times.
-
I didn't study it. I was about 6000 feet so not used to cherries that high. Mountain ash in the hood. I watched the cub strip a big piece of bark and eat it.
-
I found a lot of bear peels up high last weekend. 5500' or so. First time every really paying attention to them and was surprised by how many I saw.
-
I think alot of the berry crop froze. When I was in the cherries down low, there were an acute lack of them where there are usually lots. No bears either.
-
Lots of berries where we were, but all 3+ weeks from being ripe. They're definitely taking advantage of other food options right now.
-
There is a cherry hanging about a foot to the right of the upper bear's nose.

Sure is! A big juicy one that’s about to meet its demise by the looks of it. :chuckle:
