Title: Crab bait?
Post by: jeffro on August 15, 2020, 05:33:52 PM
Fresh or stinking rotten
Had success with both, Probably more with fresh”ish”
Had a freezer go bad and have a pile of chicken and some fish.
Going to go soak it regardless,

Just wondering what the consensus is?

I have more luck with fresh bait. Even after a 48 hour soak I will change out what is in the pot and have seen better results when I do this.  But since your freezer went out you may as well try what you have.   :twocents:

Yeah, 4 pots, I’ll do 2 with fresh, 2 not
Not next to each other, but at a similar depth, In a productive area
I’ll post results

The crab I catch don't care.
15 today on last year's frozen tuna skin, frozen chicken and some old salmon.
