Title: Potholes smoke?
Post by: bassquatch on September 14, 2020, 01:44:55 PM
How bad is the smoke at the Reservoir? Visibility on the water decent? I have a service appointment in Pasco coming up, was thinking about hitting it first since I'm making the drive.

Thanks.

Just yucky out! Kinda orange outside near Othello now, 1/2 mile visibility...I'd probably wrap a damp cloth around my nose/mouth and go for it if I wanted to fish! The damp cloth might cut down on the throat scratch.

Kinda figured.

Sucks on the Westside too. No relief in sight. I should just reschedule my appointment, been waiting two months though. Hmm

Thanks.

Auto parts store with a good paint department... Respirator selection should be pretty good. On way to go. I've worn them for a couple hours at a time painting cars. Good ones flow easy and seal comfortably.

N95 is a joke.

Hopefully this will start clearing out in a few days, but it sure hasn't yet!

Yesterday on the I-90 bridge over Moses, I could barely see the lake on the south side of the bridge. It was gnarly.

Have there been many people out? I work on the shores of Lake Washington and it's been a dead zone the past two days.

Ya, people are fishing. Heard of walleye guys still getting a few. Not heard anything about bass...if I get a day off Friday, I will try a few spots from shore.

Well, at least I won't be the only knucklehead running around in this crap.

Smoke suuuucked. Fishing was pretty good though.

I'm also pretty sure I caught the State Record pumpkinseed lol wish I would have known the record was only 1.09lbs before I let it shake off at the side of the boat lol

Hoping it was a bluegill, even then it would have been dang close!

Hoping the GoPro caught it at least?!

Looks more like January in the Basin. Thick smoke has replaced "low clouds and fog".

Saw something that said the air quality in Seattle, if a guy spent the whole day outside breathing it, was the equivalent of smoking 9 cigarettes.

Glad you got some fishing in.

Water level is down 20 feet! I fished main lake humps and drops in 20 fow for the most part. I caught 3 shallower, including the biggest largie of the day and a wayward walleye.

Fished the bases of the humps first, then worked to tops. Bites were soft for the most part. If it weren't for the smoke I would go back after my boat service, but I'll wait til October and come back.

Nice...I want to get back over there this year, but not sure I will with all of the smoke. Last time I went in late September, it was TOUGH! Small largemouth and a few decent smallies, with no access to the dunes with the water so low.

Sometimes you make up for lack of size with numbers. My biggest just missed 5 and the average was about 2. The walleye was small, the one smallmouth was about 1.5 and the bluegill was a MOOSE!

Hit it yestetday the 3rd...3 bites, 2 landed. Smallmouth and the one in lost was a largie I presume. Got stuck the same number of fish landed.
