Title: Battery powered blowers
Post by: Fastass350 on September 27, 2020, 05:06:33 PM
What do you all have and how much do you like it? We’re looking for something simple that my wife and I can keep plugged in or a battery charged and grab to blow off the front porch every couple days or so. Leaning towards DeWalt since all my cordless tools are that brand and I have chargers/batteries already but definitely open to other options.

I have a Milwaukee one I use for blowing out my box truck and when ever I am doing yard work kids fight over who can use it while I use  my backpack blower that’s all I can say but if you already have batteries and charger seams like a no brained if you don’t wanna use a gas back pack blower

The DeWalt one is pretty good.  Can blow out the garage, clean out the table saw, clean out gutters, blow off the patio fairly well.

I’m running a Ryobi, just because I have two chargers and 6 batteries. I get about two weeks worth of power to keep the leaves off the deck.

I would absolutely buy one that uses the same batteries.  You can either get an extra battery and charger or most of them you can buy without a battery for cheap.  They do go through the batteries pretty quickly, but a small area is no problem.

I use ours to blow the vehicles off after washing, it gets in the emblems and mirror cracks that always leak down after you are done drying.

It also helps get a backyard campfire going quickly, very quickly.

If you already have Dewalt tools and batteries that's an obvious choice. I have an Ego blower with the big 56V 7.5 AH battery and it blows like crazy. They have some great tools that use the same batteries but including a chainsaw that kicks butt, but it would be a totally new lineup for you.

I have a Kobalt 80V and its awesome! You didn't mention what voltage your Dewalt batteries are, but I'm assuming lower voltage will be either less power or shorter runtime, maybe both? Maybe someone can chime in that has used lower and higher voltages on battery blowers.

 :yeah:
My Ego line up keeps on growing. I was in the same dilemma but decided to go with a whole new system. Glad I did. The blower can hold it's own against a good gas blower.

I bought a battery powered string trimmer this summer and I went with the brand I have the most batteries for.  I was lucky because Milwaukee happened to be one of the better battery powered string trimmers available but had I already had as many batteries, as I do for my Milwaukee tools, in another brand I would have went with whichever brand trimmer I had the most batteries in.

I doubt there's any significant difference in all the major brands so if you already have Dewalt stuff that's whose blower I'd probably get.

I am in a similar boat.  ryobi blower and 7 or so other items and multiple batteries.
