Remington seems to have finally gotten their act together on the marlins to a large extent these last couple years, but they damaged the marlin name so bad that a lot of guys wont touch a remlin now. Maybe with ruger taking it over it can help the brand out.

Bunch of other pieces and parts were sold, Sportsman's Warehouse picked up the Tapco brand.

I sure hope so. Lever-actions are having a bit of a renaissance right now and Marlin has some interesting offerings... but I know someone who got one brand new with an unrifled barrel a few years ago. I know Ruger's had a couple hiccups here and there, but nothing like that.
