Title: Teanaway cow help
Post by: rgcopk9 on October 07, 2020, 01:30:07 PM: My buddy drew a cow tag for 335, we can’t get him on an elk.

Anybody have some good intel on where they are hiding in this unit?

Post by: cantstump on October 07, 2020, 02:27:35 PM: I haven't been up in there but I've been all over 328 and it's just tough hunting with the weather right now. Only time you might see them up and about is morning and evening, and even then it's hit or miss.

Heard a couple bugles this morning, so will head back to that spot this afternoon.
The weather change is about 5 days late, but seems to be helping.

The population in the unit has changed quite dramatically in the last couple years. What was once a “gimme meat tag” is now tough work, and true spikes are probably just slightly more plentiful than sasquatch.

Post by: greenhead_killer on October 09, 2020, 03:37:42 PM: thats a very true statement. that unit has definitely changed for the worse. i had a cow tag in 2017 and we thought it was a slam dunk. not so. we filled it, but it took quite a few trips. not like it used to be in there.
