So, swiping a page from the whitetail playbook, I took the tarsal glands from a pretty decent blacktail buck I harvested in 2018. Been vacpacked and frozen since then, but a couple weeks ago I made some stinky ass tea with hot water. I crosscut the hair and agitated everything and let it steep for a half hour then ran it through a coffee filter and refroze about 12 ounces of this stinky goodness.
Wondering if anyone has tried something like this with blacktails and whether it worked? My plan is to run a drag trail then hang it in a tree in an area where I know bucks are present from camera pics. Whaddaya think?

It will work BUT I would wait until the last 4 days of the season

Good idea. I saved tarsals and orbital glands a few years back. Vacuum sealed them and put them in the freezer. That was the last I ever saw of them.
I'd love to know how it works out.
