Title: AZ hunter ed
Post by: WAcoueshunter on April 16, 2009, 11:53:36 PM
Well, the family is going down to AZ in May, so figured this was a good time to take their hunter ed class and get the free bonus points.  Completed the online course last night and signed up for the field day course today.  I have 9 points for elk and speed goats, 5 for deer, 7 for sheep.  This will give me one more.  Should push me over the hump for my beloved coues tag and probably the elk units I'm applying for too.  Can't wait for those coues and elk hunts!

Well, just got back with my free (sort of) bonus point.  If you're going to be in AZ for any reason, no reason not to take the online class and spend a morning at the range.  Started at 7:30 and was out of there before noon.  Took the class at the Ben Avery shooting range NW of Phoenix...worth it just to see a world class shooting facility.  That place is nuts.  1650 acres of shooting/archery madness.

Interesting, of the 23 people in the class, 4 were from WA.  Me, a couple from Hoquiam, and a guy who just moved to AZ from Renton.
