Title: Did you shoot a bull off of 1902 in 346??? But never recovered it?
Post by: rtspring on November 08, 2020, 07:00:10 PM
Congrats you shot it in the back hip and took his pecker off!!!  Don’t worry, said bull was harvested and most meat was still good.

That poor bull, probably was wounded for over a week.  You could smell his injury from a long ways off.

Rifle, no idea what caliber. I’m guessing it was shot in the early days of Bull Tag holders hunt that started 5 days before the general opener.

Yea that's unfortunate news to hear, hate seeing wounded animals still walking around and not being finished off. Heard about about a couple in Bethel as well.

Bad shots happen. It sucks but it does happen I am sure there is not a person on here that hasn't had a bad shot on a animal

Ish happens.  You just never know what the reason was.  I found a broadhead in my bull this year and I’ve been super curious to find out the story behind it.  I want to trash talk the shooter but without all the facts, it’s really not fair.

I'm sure that was sarcasm because it's generally the other way with bows.

Yes it’s hard to be sarcastic on the inner web.. I was being facetious, I’m glad someone put that bull out of his misery

Congrats you shot it in the back hip and took his pecker off!!!  Don’t worry, said bull was harvested and most meat was still good.

That poor bull, probably was wounded for over a week.  You could smell his injury from a long ways off.

Sometimes, we are our own worst enemy.  Why even make a post like this?  Just more ammo for the anti's.

Most are glad you posted, RT. Maybe you've put someone's mind at ease. At the very least, you represent hunters who do the right thing and take care of the processing of a lost animal.

Yup, bad shots are part of the game, no matter how much you hate it. And there's also usually a story behind these incidents. Glad the bull is not suffering anymore

My son had one in his scope on last Saturday of season at Ravens Roost and couldn't shoot with cows behind it.  We never got another chance  Was glad to see him play it right on that one.

What a stupid post.

You could always move on to a post where you have something useful to add instead. You're probably ferocious on FB.

I still think about the 5x5 elk I shot broadside at 100 yards 3 times with a .270 and it got away after I missed a 10 foot neck kill shot under the dark reprod - saw it later in the day on front of a jeep and was ticked but glad it was harvested.  That was 40 years ago.

Someone's grateful for the post !
