Title: Eastern Coyotes - GMUs to concentrate on for newer callers
Post by: mcrawfordaf on November 12, 2020, 11:10:41 AM: My old man has been calling coyotes out here off and on for about 8 years but his age along with a couple blood clots and nerve damage to his leg have led to less and less shooting and calling unfortunately. I was never much interested in varmint hunting growing up but seeing as he has all the necessary equipment (whole foxpro digital call line up decoys etc) I'd give it a shot during the offseason. He doesn't have the stamina for scouting but I figure if I can get out and do the scouting, find easy access in and line up the hunts I'll have a better chance of getting him out there with me.

Any helpful tips on where I could start looking would be much appreciated, I'd like to focus on 121, 117 areas but open and willing to travel anywhere in the general Eastern side.

Post by: cougforester on November 12, 2020, 11:24:27 AM: If you're in the valley I'd head south. Then you don't run into the risk of calling in those pesky "big coyotes" and it's a blast calling in yotes over big snow covered Palouse hills.

Any night gear yet? Yakima area is pretty good too.
