Here's a lucky pic I got of one of the kids' Dorado last week in Mazatlan. They were jumping pretty good, but I only managed to get this one mid-air pose. Not many brighter fish out there. They look like a neon sign in the water.

Cool pic!

and they look just as good on the barbecue too. Nice shot.

Beautiful fish for sure...................I wonder how many different names are out there for this fish. Mahi Mahi, Dolphin Fish, Doroado, could be more...

Way cool! I love fishing for those ... and eating them aint bad either! ;)

Thats a nice Pic. Those are some good looking fish as well. Never got to fish for them though when I was in Florida. Regret not doing more fishing while I lived in FL.

calitos, maverikos, or lampuki It helps they are distributed worlwide instead of just one ocean or the other.

That warm weather and blue water sure sticks with you. Makes it tough to return to the grind. As much as I love the NW, I really enjoy our 'warm' vacations. Especially during spring break...errr...in the spring.
If you've never seen Dorado in nature, they are literally like a multi-color neon sign under water. Many other fish are bright, but the Dorado is my favorite. The neon greens, blues, yellows...Pictures won't catch it. You can only see it in person. Their pectoral fins are like two neon/white headlights coming through the water. The bulls (males) are really blue. So amazing. What a treat.
