Title: Flying Mahi
Post by: @RCHER on April 21, 2009, 12:22:38 AM: Here's a lucky pic I got of one of the kids' Dorado last week in Mazatlan. They were jumping pretty good, but I only managed to get this one mid-air pose. Not many brighter fish out there. They look like a neon sign in the water.

Post by: @RCHER on April 21, 2009, 11:43:08 PM: That warm weather and blue water sure sticks with you. Makes it tough to return to the grind. As much as I love the NW, I really enjoy our 'warm' vacations. Especially during spring break...errr...in the spring.

If you've never seen Dorado in nature, they are literally like a multi-color neon sign under water. Many other fish are bright, but the Dorado is my favorite. The neon greens, blues, yellows...Pictures won't catch it. You can only see it in person. Their pectoral fins are like two neon/white headlights coming through the water. The bulls (males) are really blue. So amazing. What a treat.
