Remaining anti-gun bills could well be brought to the floor TODAY.
If they do, we’ll all need to go nuclear!
Today is the last day to pass bills out of the house of origin in preparation to cross over to the other branch.
These bills are still pending:
SHB 1283, House open carry ban, 3+ people near a protest = felony
SSB 5078, Senate Magazine Ban
SSB 5263, Senate Personal injury defense makes it easier for criminals to sue for damages despite lawful self-defense
SB 5217, Assault weapons ban (AWB)
Please note: while the AWB didn’t clear the committee hurdle, the Ds could vote to suspend the rules and bring up the AWB (or any other bill) at any time if they have the votes.
The moment we discover new intel we'll post URGENT actions in the Washington 2021 Legislative Action Group

Great post Bushcraft! Thanks.

My senator and reps are all solid pro-2A. But I'll send them notes. Thanks.

Folks, we took a huge leap forward today.
The biggest anti-gun bills failed to pass out of their house of origin.
This includes:
SHB 1283, House open carry ban, 3+ people near a protest = felony
SSB 5078, Senate Magazine Ban
SB 5217, Senate assault weapons ban (AWB)
WELL DONE.
It was hard work. It certainly wasn't a landslide.
Your voices ABSOLUTELY mattered today. You were HEARD.
Everyone pitched in and emailed/called your legislators. A LOT. Over and over again.
And at the end of the day today they didn't have a guaranteed path forward to passing these bills.
Today, we were all successful.
And tomorrow we start up the engines again. The fight isn't over. We have to remain vigilant--and ACTIVE. Remember, any rule can be suspended with enough votes, so we're not totally out of the woods until Sine Die on April 25.
I'll try to post up the current slate of bills that we're watching, and we'll start the full-court press on the House and Senate with the crossover bills.
We'll keep close eye on these, while we all keep up the pressure for the remaining bills.
Well done, folks. Join me in pouring yourself a stiff, celebratory drink!

From 5217:
(2) "Copycat weapon" means a semiautomatic, centerfire firearm
23 that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and has one or
more of the following:24
25 (a) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action
26 of the weapon, unless the firearm is a pistol as defined in this
section;
So they are called Copycat weapons now?

Passed today next will be background checks to purchase ammo or components

Open carry ban meeting today. I signed in to the zoom meeting and was disappointed in how many people were against this and those that want it. I counted 7 cons and over 60 pros. We will never succeed if people don't get involved. Our rights are being taken away and no one can complain about it.
Here is the link if you want to join and also make a statement/testimony. You can join the meeting and just state pro or con to the bill. They are accepting statements/testimony for 24 hours after the meeting.
https://app.leg.wa.gov/CSIRemote/House
Instructions
Select Committee=Civil Rights & Judiciary, Meetings = 3/16/2021; Click ESSB 5038, then choose: submit testimony, testify live, or position noted. You’ll be opposing (Under Position, select Con).
You’ll need to enter your contact information so they can determine which district you’re in (and which legislators should really care about your position) and that you are actually a WA resident.
Edit:
I wish I had posted this earlier. It looks like you have to register for it up to one hour before it starts. It started at 10:00
