Trying to figure out when this gun was built. Serial number 00204, Cant find any info on line.

There is no V in this guns serial number. Just the numbers

Vanguard Deluxe.  Beautiful gun, what caliber? Just curious, I have same gun in 30-06. My serial number begins with a V.

Edit:  Your's appears to be .06 as well.  What is interesting to me is under the Vanguard yours is just Southgate California.  There, mine says made in Japan and then has Southgate California engraved back where your safety is.  Our safety's are also quite a bit different.

You must shoot the gun haha.  Mine is an absolute tack driver.  It loves Nosler Accubond 165s and 180s.

Looks like they started making them in 1970 looking at that weatherby web forum info. I would guess number 204 would be the first year.
