I’ve got a spot that’s just full of activity I’ve got some deer, two nice bears, and a few elk. Ones really nice.
But with the bear I can’t really see to find anything on what to do if you get one on camera in the spring to hopefully find him in august and into fall.
Seems to be a big boar with a sow, west side bear, and near the top along a ridge. They’re currently feeding fairly regularly through a smaller meadow that broken in half by some brush.
What’s the play? Is the boar likely to stay in the area if there’s plenty of grass and shade/ water? Or will he most likely drop down in elevation (currently about 3k elevation where I’ve got him on film) just looking for y’all’s experience.
I plan on checking cameras once more end of June or July and then maybe the weekend before bear season.
I also am nervous to hunt the area to close to elk season because I don’t want to pressure any bulls that may be in the area.

Well my experience with game on cams is your lucky to see them come hunting season. Bucks go nocturnal and change habits when velvet comes off. Bears habits change to getting bulked up. Some search for berries high. If it's warm in August they like cool areas. Rarely will you shoot an animal you have on cam now or later unless it's a WT and you pattern it. :twocents:

Fairly obvious, I’m going to try and get that book and read up, I guess I was just more curious, if the area holds green grass and whatnot through the summer if the bears will move out to find berries or how it works.

I will say this, that is a nice boar!!
When I saw him I couldn’t believe it. So lucky to get a boar like this on camera for a first time, as well as the elk I have on camera both just stellar animals

West side 3000’ berries aren’t to far off, that’s probably a south facing slope, find some timber with berries near by.👍
I’m right at the 3k elevation here
Just gonna play it out and leave the cameras up. If he’s still coming around in august I’ll make a play if not I’ll go poke around the timber
