Just curious what folks are using for coyote bullets. I haven't been sucessful, but am carrying 40gr Ballistic Tips around. I think it might be too light but am curious what other folks are using.
Thanks,

40 grain hornady vmax .223 as long as you hit them in the middle its fine but if you shoot'em around the edges it can get messy
-
i use 55 grain nosler ballistic tips, not so much because im shooting at coyotes but because i worked up a load that puts three shot groups in one hole at 100 yards and 1/2" or less at 200 out of my AR
-
55 grain Vmax
-
50 gr V-Max (Black Hills blue box) or 52 gr TNT (Ultramax)... only because they are overall the most accurate loads for my .223s.
-
vmax all the way. I have shot a couple of dogs with them now and no exit hole. 40 grain out of the 22 hornet is great coyote medicine.
-
60gr v-max.
-
40,50-55gr vmax, 53gr Amax, 40gr sierra varminter, and 50gr TNT all work great out of a .223 or 22-250 as long as you dont hit the edges. :twocents:

180 gr Noslers ;) Seems to make them pretty dead. :chuckle:
-
I am using Remington 55gr Accutip. Haven't been sucessfull yet, however. I would love to try Blackhills 60gr v-max, but of course-not available. :bash:

He beat me to it....180 grain Hornadys work about the same as the noslers

:chuckle: At 180gr can ya tell the differance? Must look like a inside out dog. :chuckle: :chuckle:

If you hit them in the nose and exit the ass there is no need in tubing them.
-
I saw one hit just above the nose a few weeks ago, straight on, I think he did 2.5 flips before he hit the ground :chuckle: :chuckle: but it was a 223,not as dramatic as that school bus your fling at em. I have been thinking about trying the 45-70 on a dog, that ought to be messy, 325gr lever evo round should do it. :chuckle:
-
I know the 200gr noslers at 2900 make them do flips.
-
120 grain Hornady hollow point
-
65 grain in 5.56, stops them moving in no time.
-
I used 125 grain corelokt 30-06 for years..All head shots though,on the wetside 33 grain accubond 22mag
-
40 gr Vmax out of the .204 Ruger
-
55 nosler BT's via 243@ 4grand...

The ones that hit the coyote. :chuckle:
-
:yeah:my thoughts exactly. 6 shot wrks well at 15 feet in hot persuit :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
39 gr federal blitz kings or 45 gr hornady SP. 204 ruger
-
218Bee/22H - Win. 46gr HP,
223 - 50gr NBT,
22-204 - 40gr NBT,
22-250 - Speer 52gr FB HP,
6x45mm - 55gr NBT/ Sierra 55gr Blitzking,
6mm-204 - 55gr BBT/Sierra 60gr Varminter,
243 - 65gr V-Max,
25-204/ 250-3000 - Barnes 75gr "X" bullet / 100gr NPT,
These are the bullets that I've used for coyotes and they all do the job, I've tried alot of bullets over the years and these are the ones that seem to work the best for me for predator hunting, the 100gr NPT's do double duty on deer also.
