That's incredible..been to yak many times but never during steelie season..Im there June 4-7 for halis and salt kings..Think there will be some steelies still in the Situk? Were you fishing above or below 9 mile bridge? Thanks for getting me excited for any action in Yak, whatever it may be!!

I fished the whole thing! We rented a drift boat two days and hiked the other two with the first day being  just the afternoon we flew in. We drifted from 9 mile bridge to saltchuk the next two days and then hiked above 9 mile bridge with snow shoes the last day and ended up missing the one plane a day and had to stay and fish again the next morning. Here is a couple more to get you pumped!  :) Keep in mind that this was the same exact time two years ago 4-25 thru 4-29.

Here's a cool vid I found after I got back from the situk! If this doesn't get you jacked I don't know what will!!! It just happened to be a couple of days after I was there so it pretty much sums up my trip from the rental rig being right at the door of the airport, the drive, the lower river trail and all the same holes and similar action... it is a very cool vid well worth the watch!!!  8)

Hoh-- If you get a chance head down to the landing and try for some sockeye. Walk up to the pistol hole or the rodeo hole and just about everything else in-between. They should just be startin the time you are planing on heading down,  I mean right at the beginning of the run, but they have been gettin a little later every year for the last couple. I love fishin for sockeye on that river. Let us know how you do.
