Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to
take your guns?
Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun
world have no problem with taking your ammo!
The bill 20 that is being pushed in 18 states
(including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009
unless the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held un coded ammunition must be
destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.)
They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Alabama, Arizona , California , Connecticut ,
Hawaii , Illinois ,Indiana, Ken tucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri , New Jersey, New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee , and Washington .

There are no active bills in the State of WA, and it didn't make any ground in 2008. It was not submitted in 2009, when I last checked.
his legislation has not passed in any state thus far.
The web-site you posted was the effort of the 2008 push for this legislation.
I wasn't able to find a current bill at the Congressional level either. Here is the web-site for that search, as it is possible that it is worded in a way that my search did not pull. http://thomas.loc.gov/
From what I understand there is one company that can provide this service, and even the federal government hasn't wanted to give one company the monopoly rights to track ammunition.

I didn't want to scare anyone, someone else brought this to my attention so I wanted to pass it on. Glad to hear that there is not legislation for this in the current year.
NW_Bowhunter, ammo is going because people believe Obama is sooner or later take a stab at gun control, so people are stock piling :)

Whoever is passing around this bad info has to stop. It doesn't help our cause, it raises ammo prices and generally makes us all look like idiots.
