Not a reloader here, and not going to start. My buddy won a 6.8 western rifle recently and I was wondering what the best ammo would be for him? Would be used for deer, elk and bear. Going to put a long range scope on it so would want a bullet that still performs at 600+. Which grain weight ?? I like the Berger 190vld for my .300 but not sure about the 6.8.

Isn't the 6.8 pretty much kinda setup right out the box for long range out the box.
What I mean is ,like 175 grain or larger is gonna be a more sleek , better bc bullet anyway.
I've been looking at it more and more.
Lack of funds,So I don't have any skin in the game.
Don't own one yet.
Someone will chime in better informed,I'm sure :dunno:

The little bit I’ve read about the gun, the more I like it. Almost same ballistics as my .300win but w less recoil.
