Title: Help identifying REM 700 contour for new composite stock
Post by: COOPDUCK on March 13, 2022, 08:24:36 AM: I would like to purchase a composite stock for this rifle, and would prefer to buy a good good quality takeoff from all the guys that restock. Just your ordinary hunting style stock from Stocky, H&S, Bell&Carlson. The problem is that I’m am not a rem700 aficionado, so don’t know what barrel contour this rifle has, other than it’s obviously a BDL in 7rm. I’d like to buy something I literally just drop this thing into, and everything fits perfectly without a gunsmith needed. Maybe I’m naive and that’s not possible. Can someone help me ID, and maybe any hints on what marketplace to look at for new condition take off stocks.

Mitutoyos say .661 at the muzzle.
That is a standard Remington magnum contour.
