Title: Hunt/recreation truck gear
Post by: buckfvr on April 07, 2022, 05:09:57 PM
So has anyone found a serious tire inflator that can handle LT tires and 50lbs pressure without taking an hour and or jacking up to take weight ?  Seems as though short duty cycle is the norm, looking either 12 volt hook up or one of the battery units for automotive tools.

I've got the 400p as well.  Have used it twice, and was VERY glad I had it both times.

ARB is an Australian company, not sure where the compressor is made but they got one in a tackle box that's 100% duty cycle for mid 300 bux

i have a dual compressor ARB in one truck and a VIAR in another.
both work well, check out what they're rated for though.. VIAR has a pretty good online selector.
my buddy has the dual ARB portable with the tank, airs up the tires on 2500 real well, only thing is those set ups are expensive.

Buying gear for your truck is essentially a very expensive insurance policy that attempts to cover "Murphy's Law". ARB is very nice, Viair is a plausible option.  Both are at the upper end ($) of items that will log most, if not all (hopefully), of their life under the rear seat.  Not much room left under there.

I have a rigid 18 volt that works great and can go over 100psi. My buddy has a Milwaukee one that is great too. Pretty fast for their size.
