Do you use ear pro in the turkey woods or no?
-
I do, I do for any hunting now if I think there’s a high chance of shooting a gun. All gun fire causes hearing damage.
-
I came to that same assumption. Mostly asking because its seems like most of the turkey hunters I see on youtube dont have any.

Hazardous noise exposure has a cumulative effect on your hearing throughout your life. 1 shotgun blast may not be noticeable now, but after a while you will have hearing loss.
To me it isn't worth it, I try to always have hearing protection with me.

:yeah:
Even .22's will have an impact on hearing

If you are still in the truck I’d recommend ear pro 100% of the time. If not and you have the time/opportunity ear pro is always the best choice. Technology has advanced quite well and the auto shut off electronic ear muffs are not that expensive anymore. They save your hearing and actually amplify other sounds.

I always wear ear pro when hunting anything. Once you are in the habit it’s no worse than remembering to put on your hat.

I use Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Earmuffs, shooting, hunting, yard work and sometimes around my wife. Mabe others on the market but I've found these the best for me and they take AAA's.

As a 33 yr old with constant ringing in my left gun ear mostly from a life time of shotgunning I wish I had the muffs when I was young. It amazes me how much you can hear with them turned all the way up. But I will note every now and then take them off to listen. You might notice those turkeys that sound 50 yards away might be a 1/4 mile lol.

That’s what I use too. They really have good sound quality. I do not hike with them on because they sweat but if I’m sitting I where them. Love them.

They gave everyone at work a set of these. They are a little more expensive but they are extremely comfortable and work excellent. The cord unplugs and the mic folds out of the way.
