Title: Sb5708 and concealed carry
Post by: 85yota on May 26, 2022, 01:27:58 PM: Move or remove if this is already covered.. how I understood it the law allows grandfathering in of "hi cap magz". Went to purchase a new g 19 and the lady explained that when the law takes effect i can no longer conceal carry with anything over 10 rounds and the mag has to completely and permanently pinned. She also said it can't be loaded in the house.. read the law and it says going to ranges or outdoor activities is OK but the the gun MUST not be loaded in a vehicle.. so everytime with my g20 I would have to pop in a pinned mag to drive down the road with the other mag buried or unloaded and than switch them at the new spot..the law seems vague and at work so can't really dive into it.. So is this law saying everyone in the state will now no longer people able to carry or protect there home with anything more than 10 rounds no matter when the purchase was made? I see its a criminal offense with no first warning clause. So is everyone going to run out and buy cali mags or pay money to get pinned?

Basically, no new restrictions on using 10+ mags, only buying new ones, importing them, manufacturing them, etc.

It doesn't. You can buy all the mags you want in other states. However, bringing mags over ten rounds into the state is where you could be breaking the law.

Obviously this law is bs just like I 594 but this seems to have self defense implications potentially, under the guise of the courts

It is illegal to import.

(38) "Import" means to move, transport, or receive an item from a place outside the territorial limits of the state of Washington to a place inside the territorial limits of the state of Washington.

Just like it's also illegal to go to Oregon and buy a pair of Carhartt's, bring them into Washington, and then not send the Washington State department of revenue the appropriate Washington State sales tax on those Carhartt's.

The two laws a equally enforceable.

Post by: buckfvr on May 30, 2022, 08:29:36 AM: I think Idaho will verify your state of primary residence and not sell to wa residences, same as Im sure they dont sell to residents of other states with mag restrictions. Same way if you buy mags off the internet right now, as I did recently, I was directed to a notation showing restrictions by state, and you can bet wa will be on that list 7-1 and they wont sell you any high capacity mags.

Manufacturer's have been catering to WA orders since the stupid "law" passed. That's why sporting goods stores have 55 gallon drums full of Standard capacity mags. These laws put more standard cap mags on the streets in two months than normal sales would do in two years. Guys like me that don't need more buy more just because...I lost count of how many I have and I'm not afraid to say it...

And I'm waiting for that big end of June sale .. :IBCOOL: :tup:
