Title: Lake Lawrence Thurston county
Post by: Norman89 on May 30, 2022, 08:22:11 PM
Recently moved further south into Yelm so time to try some new waters! About 4 miles from home we hit up the boat launch at lake Lawrence mid morning to soak some power eggs and came out with 9 beautiful bows, 6 of which were great color hold over fish from last year. Was both my son's first time catching trout from the bank and they had a great time. They approved of the new smoked trout recipe as well  :chuckle:

Good to know there are bull frogs in the lake, I just tried frog legs for the first time last week and that was a tasty treat!

I grew up on the lake. Great fishing. Give Clear Lake a go too.

I’ve fished Lawrence quite a bit since I moved out that way 7 years ago, but since WDFW decided to “fix” the launch it’s become a huge hassle to get my boat in. Really prefer clear lake these days.

I fished offut TONS when I was a kid, the motorcycle group my parents were part of held a annual fishing derby there, I won the kids devision 6 years running, then the adult devision 4 years running. Won the poker tournaments in the evenings too

The lake is still producing some honkers from the bank, last night we got there at 8 and out by 9, fish were still biting good as we were leaving. My boys got 10 more bottom rig and green power eggs doin work. Best fish of the day on a 2' ugly stick dock runner was 18" holdover. My 6 year old got that one and I could tell by the bend in the pole and the look on his face it was worth the evening trip and a late bed time
