Just got my crossbow special use permit and drew an early archery antlerless with 8 pts. I've spent time north of Naches River but not in the Nile. Wondering about road conditions? Looking at harvest stats for this tag, 18 issued with 0 hunters or harvest. Same for general season. Did fires keep hunters out or poor elk population? Permits increased to 30 for 2022. Will most likely be hunting solo and dry camping out of truck. Any suggestions appreciated.

A VERY large part of the Nile did burn last year during the Schneider Springs fire and the Nile along with the Bumping were closed.

I drove through most of that GMU last weekend... I would say 80% was impacted by fire last year. That said, we did see several Elk and deer on our drive. most of the roads are in good condition. Some of the higher elevation 4X4 roads had not been cleared (we cleared several and then ran out of saw gas and had to turn around). I have a cabin right near Gold Creek station so its my backyard.

Ah, I see you qualified for the SU crossbow permit by your disability then drew the Nile EA antlerless tag. It seemed like one "crossbow cow elk" permit to me at first glance. no worries :)
