So im having a debate with my buddy on a question that is probly odvious we just dont know the answer...If you have ammo in the CLIP of your your handgun/riffle, and its in your car, is it still considered a loaded gun in your car??? My buddy said its not, I say it is......whats the answer boys

No, if it's not in the gun or attached to the gun, then the gun is not considered to be loaded.
-
If the magazine is loaded and in the gun then its loaded.
If the magazine is loaded but not in the gun your good.
-
If it's a browning with a detachable clip (loaded) but it is still attached to the floor plate and the floor plate is open, it is also considered loaded

:yeah:

That's right and it's BS that the law is interpreted that way. How is it unsafe to have the magazine attached like it does on the Brownings? I hunt with an A Bolt and it sure would be nice if I could keep that magazine attached while driving from one spot to another just so that I wouldn't lose the clip somewhere in the truck.

Found that out the hard way about ten years ago. Never got cited but never happen again..

With my Browning I just take the Magazine a put it in the cup holder of my truck. With a browning its pretty tough to jump out and get a quick shot off anyway. :chuckle:
