Ok leaving in the morning for S. Carolina for a week. I am taking my digi camera and never played with the filter. Can someone give me run down on what they are good for.
SunPak
UV
Polarized
Those are the 3 I have.

polarized filter is best at taking the glare off of water. polarized sunglasses for fishing makes it easier to see fish, structure, rocks, etc.
i leave a polarizing filter on my camera all the time. somebody told me it was a good idea to do that once... :dunno:

Sounds good I think that is what I have on it now. :)

UV is nothing. Just clear glass. Not sure what a sunpak filter is. The polarizing lens is good for all landscape shots. It makes water look good. The only 2 filters I have are a polarizing filter and a neutral density ND filter. I have UV filters but don't use them. Just crappy glass to shoot through with your expensive lens.

All it says is Sunpak C-p-l 52mm. So I guess I will run the polarized.

Did some looking and this is what the other filter is.
SUNPAK 52MM CIRCULAR POLARIZING FILTER

I thought the UV filters were to protect your lens. Are they not a good idea to use? I guess I could see where they are just "crappy glass to shoot through with your expensive lens".

The polarize filter works great for glare on water and will enhance the colors in your landscape shots.
