Title: More Extensive Lead Ban in Ammo Possible- let's do something
Post by: ivarhusa on May 16, 2009, 08:58:52 AM
Today's paper ran a piece by Scott Sandsberry of the Yakima Herald Republic describing steps being taken that could lead to a ban on all lead in bullets, not just waterfowl hunting or even upland birds.  The piece describes the possible death knell for trap and skeet shooting.

We need to let the WDFW know how we feel about such a ban. It appalls me to think of giving up the efficiency of lead projectiles. I am sure I don't need to lecture anyone on why the alternatives are so poor (in most cases).

Contacting the State Department of Ecology may be a good idea too, as they may base rules on what "safer alternatives" may exist. If they wanted to save lives, they would ban cars from the road.

This "lead" juggernaut has got to stop. Barring children from riding quad-runners because they have lead in them?  How idiotic is that, unless you don't happen to be affected by the rule.

That is how it is done.  First they won't let you hunt bear with dogs, then coyotes, then pheasant...  :bash:

What we have here  is a strategy right out of the S.T.A.G. (Straight Talking American Government) Party. Don't outlaw guns, outlaw bullets.  Where is Pat Paulson when we need him to point out the comedy in this?
