As always, thank you to the Hunting-Washington crowd for helping me get my start with Orange Aglow and for continuing to be my best source for reliable field testers and loyal customers.
We've been developing game bags for about three years, trying to improve on what's already on the market. Our production run should be arriving around August 10th and they will go up for sale soon thereafter. I'll post again once they launch and provide an exclusive discount to forum members. Also if you signed up to be a field tester last year but were not chosen you can expect an email from me with a different discount code. If you tested, you will get a free set.
Here is some more information on what to expect with our game bags:
*rated to 100+ pounds. I filled the elk boneless bag with about 115 pounds of rocks and it didn't break
*stainless hooks to make hanging easier (no knots!)
*reflective piping along the edges, reflective paracord drawstring
*handles
*all bags except Elk Bone-In have 1" wider openings than the base, to make loading a little easier
*food-safe dye
*lightweight - I don't have the weights now but will provide them when we launch
We'll be offering four sets, each will include a mesh stuff sack. Prices listed are not final:
Deer Boneless: 13x27" (2x), 13x19" (1x) - each of the larger bags should fit both a boneless front and rear quarter
$39.99
Deer Bone-In: 13x27" (4x), 13x19" (1x)
$49.99
Elk Boneless: 14x33" (5x) - you can probably trim this to four bags by combining both front shoulders into one bag.
$59.99
Elk Bone-In: 26x46" (4x), 14x33" (1x)
$69.99
We'll also sell the 13x27, 14x33, and 26x46 bags individually.

We're also launching a dog safety vest. More on that later.

I'd be very curious what the weight is.

They look cool for sure.
How would you compare the fabric to Black Ovis/Caribou Gear/All the rest? Is it similar, lighter, stronger, as strong, more breathable, more compactable, etc?

Tagging. Looks good!

I think you'll find them on par with most other bags in all categories. They're a little thicker than Argali's bags. I'll try to get a picture of the bags in a palm so you can see how compact they are, but they're small. Durable, too. I had a tester drag one behind a snowmobile and it did tear (of course), but under normal use they held up well.

I was lucky enough to be a tester, used on moose quarters. We didn’t get to put them to the full test as far as packing out miles through the woods (thank god, whole moose quarters)! But I’m very happy with the material, hook and they seem durable and light. Any Orange Aglow product I’ve bought or tried has been impressive, David doesn’t build a cheap or gimmick product, thanks again for letting me get a crack at these bags! I’ll be buying a set for sure, and thanks for the gift!!

Can I pre order a bone in deer set?

I have been fortunate enough to test some of this gear also. Used the elk bone in game bags last year, although we had to bone the elk out, they performed flawlessly. Did the job and washed up great for the next use. Their products are top notch and reflect the considerable amount of time and research put into them. Buy with confidence, I highly recommend!

Looking forward to getting myself a set!

Can I pre order a bone in deer set?
I'm not sure how to do pre-orders but I'll have plenty in a few weeks. I'll make a new post once they're up and give you a discount code to use. Thanks for your support!

I like the stainless hooks and the straps. I will be getting a set of bone in Deer bags when availible.

“Drug behind a snowmobile”
That got a chuckle! I visualized some of the characters I knew when I lived in Montana doing something like that.
That is some harsh testing!

I’ll take a set of elk boneless when available.

I'm in for a set of deer bone in and elk bone in. Please let me know how to order when they are available.

Put me down for a set of Elk bone in and deer bone in.

This is awesome. I love supporting local cats over a big name brand any day!
I'll take a set of "deer bone in" bags when available please!

Fit and finish of these bags is top notch. No unfinished material ends to fray anywhere. The slightly wider opening makes loading them much less of a chore. The boned out deer size is perfect for a front and rear boned out from a mature mule deer. With the other bag for straps and tenders.
They are excellent bags and at a competitive price.
Sadly they are not fox proof though. I had a fox eat a hole through one and chow down half a backstrap from my colorado buck last fall. 😥

I told my testers to try to destroy them and that guy took it as a challenge, which I appreciated. :chuckle:

Hey David, when will they be available?

Hopefully about mid-August.

I'd be very curious what the weight is.
I just borrowed a set from a field tester and the Deer Bone-In (five bags + mesh sack) is 10.5 oz, Deer Boneless (three bags + mesh sack) is 6.3 oz. If you are really looking to save weight you could take the hooks off and save a bit more. I'll provide those weights once I make the sale announcement.

Definitely interested in getting some - just need to decide between the deer or elk (both?). Thanks!
-
Can I get a set of both by end of first week in Sept?

You should be able to, yes.

I've been frustrated by what is currently available, I will have to give these a try when they become available.

I finally got to put my new game bags to the test today. I used them on a mature cow today and I love them! Great bags, you won't regret the purchase.
