Title: Well THERE'S your problem!
Post by: Rob on July 25, 2022, 06:50:32 AM: I noticed on one side of the boat trailer the boat was sitting lower than the other. Investigation found the leaf spring was FLAT. It looked like it lost it's temper but that seemed odd.

I pulled it yesterday, and unless this is a "take down" model of leaf spring I think I found the issue!

I was thinking jb weld and a little harbor frieght welder go to go till the first pot hole. :chuckle:

Post by: Rob on July 25, 2022, 06:11:36 PM: Right now i am having a heck of a time finding an eye to slipper leaf spring that is 25.75 inches long, 1.75 inch wide and at least 1k per spring (1.7k per sping would be better.

I think i will cannibalize my canoe trailer as they.are perfect and then convert that trailer to an eye to eye spring.

You notice anything funny the last time you towed it or do you think you got lucky and caught it right away?

Post by: Rob on July 26, 2022, 03:54:43 AM: I think it has been a while. Boat only gets out a couple times a year and i noticed it not being level last uear. Figured it was a bit off center but did not think much of it. A snapped leaf spring was not on my short lost of issues to look for. The break was not visable until i removed 4 very stubborn bolts.
