Some buddies and I went on a tuna trip last weekend with Anglers Edge Sportfishing out of Westport. I've been tuna fishing with other outfits and this one takes the cake hands down. The boat, the crew, the weather, the ocean, and the fishing made this trip the best day I've ever had on the water.
The ocean was super nice at 2 ft at 9 seconds with almost no wind.
We left the dock at about 6 and were fishing around 730. The Capt was Mitch and his deck hand was Kyle and they worked their asses off and were top notch dudes also. We fished for about 3.5 hours and put 6 in the boat. Not great, but much better than everyone else was doing. Capt Mitch decided that wasn't good enough, so we picked up and ran for about 30 minutes. He found us some birds and troll gear was put out. We had a fish on within a minute and then all hell broke loose. We were on a bait stop for 1.5 hours until we didn't have anymore room on the boat. Total of 53 in the boat.
We were cleaning things up and starting to filet the fish and tuna were still jumping and going crazy all around us.
If anyone is looking for a express tuna charter, these guys were as good as they get. Ill be booking with them again for sure.

Nothing beats an epic bait stop. Nice work

Nice haul! Tuna fishing is my favorite fishing and one of the best eating fish there is. Had a trip planned for Sep 9th but wife made other plans and I had to give up my spot. Hope to jump on a boat this season before the action ends.

Mitch is a great dude to fish with and his brother's outfit isn't half bad either. :chuckle:

We were about 35 miles out fishing and when we hit that bait stop, there wasn't a boat to be seen around us. Unreal trip!!!

Have fished with Mitch back when he was deck hand , on the other FAST boats :chuckle: Stand up guy and really good to see him with his own boat !
