Just curious how many times people have been drawn for a permit. I have drawn once in 14 years of applying, and the rest of my family has never drawn chit.. Just curious how many times and what units? :dunno:
:hello: hey one horned spike!!!
-
Never drawn, 9 points, but this is my year!! (I remember saying this last year with 8 points)
-
A big fat zero! Hope to change that this year :chuckle:

X2 :'(
-
yeah, but I say that every year! My dad pulled two years ago and it was as if I pulled the tag,it was a blast!
-
I actually drew twice but the first time my poits got rienstated because of fire danger and no acces into the Toutle, I had 6 points then and we got drawn as Partners, me and the wife, we actually had 5 points when we drew, she had 2 less than me. Sure glad I didnt get to hunt that tag :chuckle: Of course I had 12 points and drew last year. None of my family ever drew bull permits, my uncle died trying. A few cow tags , 3 for my dad and a coupe for my uncle.
-
Are you sure you want to see this!!! :IBCOOL:
The wife has drawn 2 doe tags and 3 late buck permits! 2 elk permits and a moose permit!!!
I have drawn 2 doe permits 2 late buck permits and 1 bull elk permit.
I smell a sheep tag!!!!
-
Are you talking about just Washington and just special permits? There are different types of permits but here's what I've been drawn for that required a draw just to hunt it!
For me twice in WA ~ one Deer and one Bull Elk
once in Oregon ~ Whitetail Deer
Then don't know if this is also what you are looking for but once in WA for multi-season and three times in Montana for general combo.
And Yes Mr. and Mrs. Finnman are lucky SOB's!!! :chuckle:
-
Since this is the elk forum, I assume you are talking elk......so twice in Washington
-
Drawn? I don't think WDFW really even knows that I apply for all of the special permit critters. I've never drawn squat!
-
I have never drawn a Elk permit, Been putting in for a long time.
-
38 years and one bull permit...ya, we should go to permit only so I would never hunt. >:(
-
Never been. 8 points. And with the draws that I put in for, probably not gonna happen anytime soon.
-

Sorry about that I went straight to it on recent links guess I'm a retard! Once for Elk then :P
-
never in wa. 3 points for each of the clovenhooved game in wa.
drawn twice in oregon. youth hunt. parents made me forgo the second one. :bash:
I think i was up to 3 elk points 3 deer points and 2 antelope points in oregon but i think i loose them this year. if you dont put in for two years they drop them i believe.
-
Once
-
1986 1st year I put in for a bull tag & got it, then I put in for cow tags & got 4. but that was 10 years ago & started back with bull tags. After I get 1 more bull tag it will be back to cows. They taste great.
-
Twice
-
Drew an archery any elk permit with 2 points. Great hunt, no kill.
-
Drew the Margaret AHE Elk 5pt
Drew Toutle archery Elk 3pt
Drew Peaches archery ELK spike, long story
Drew Late whitetail in Okanogan 4pt
Great hunts, I always put in for the longshots
-
drew once with 4 pts AHE tag last year. Hope to draw another this year with a little lady luck.
-
One manastash cow tag, filled it next to last day when the weather FINALLY arrived. was sunny and 70s before that. Snowed 37 inches that day.
one snoqualmie doe tag...didnt SEE a deer....live one that is...eventually found 11 cougar kills.
-
Never for me, 17+ years and still waiting >:(
-
A big fat zero! Hope to change that this year :chuckle:
:yeah: Me too
-
One cow tag before we went to the point system - none since
-
2 times
-
drew an archery bull permit last year. The only time I have drawn a tag.
-
None yet. I think I've only applied for elk 3-4 times. I put in for a couple of bull tags this year with my 4th choice a cow tag..hoping to maybe get lucky and put some meat in the freezer. Deer on the other hand...this is my 10th season applying! :P Maybe this year
-

■ Hunters will not forfeit their preference
points if they do not apply for a hunt
series for two or more consecutive
years. Preference points remain in the
system until they are redeemed.
Straight out of the 2009 oregon hunting regs :hello:
-
Does multiseason count :dunno: Hit a double this year with the wife
-
2 times in 40 years
toledo cow tag the very first year.Early 80s.
M/L bull for Margaret with my son 2 years ago
-
not yet, this thread gives me mixed feelings though. :bash:
-
ive drawn twice, first time with 4 pts in 2000 then drew last year with 9 points. goose prairie and rimrock.
-
Didn't even start applying for pemits until eastern spike only happened...since then 13 pts and nothing. thanks to the continuing reduction of pemit #'s on the Colockum. Remember when you gave up the first 2 days of general elk to even apply? Cut down the number of applicants.......and money to the state. They figured it out
Have got a few different SP der
-
I drew an elk permit in 1996, 2005, and again in 2006.
-
Never draw in 9 yrs. Hoping that when drawn I will make it worth the time and money. :dunno:
-
Every spring I look at my draw odds for the units I put in for and know it is hopeless. Then every September I go out and call in bulls that convince me to play the lottery again the following spring :bash: :bash:
...If I call that problem gambling hotline from the casino commercials, do you think they can help me...?
-
Once for Elk 2003 with 4 points
Never for deer 7 points
-
After many years of trying....my wife drew a 'cow' tag two years ago. Got her cow on the third day. (muzzleloader)
I have gotten 2-elk tags (archery)
-
Lets see, in Washington I've drawn two cow tags, one rifle and one muzzle. Once for branch bull muzzle, ate that one. And once for Klickitat Meadows. It was a spike/cow tag. As for deer I've been drawn for three doe tags, never a buck tag. I also drew a controlled hunt buck tag in Idaho once.
-
Cow tag in 1994 lewis river, not really a hunt. drew a doe tag on accident in 2003. Never drawn a bull tag or a buck tag.
-
Well sounds like a few people have been lucky through out the years!! :chuckle:.. It definatly like Christmas waiting for the permits to be posted. But most of us usually get that John Deer letter.. Or is it Deer John? :chuckle: :chuckle:!! And i was really just curious about Washington Elk Tags getting selected for, but it is interseting to here about all tags in the state.. I guess just dont bank on getting drawn or you will be >:( every year!! But until they are posted all of can  .. and just dream about the big one!! :tree1:!!
:hello: hey One Horned Spike!!
-
not once, not twice, but thrice.
Multiseason deer (ate it)
2nd deer tag (scored)
Spring bear (scored)
-
I don't put in for most of the coveted tags so I usually get something, I don't think I have ever had 3 points for deer or elk but moose I think I now have 4.
Had east oakanogan doe tags a couple times and sherman doe tags, also goose prarie any bull tag once a bethel cow tag, winston cow tag etc....! hoping for a moose this year but ain't we all !!!
-
In 38 years I've been Drawn for a Goat Permit in 1976, a goat Permit in 1987, and an Elk Permit in 2005, not to Lucky at getting Drawn for Permits. My Oldest Son seems to get Drawn every year.
-
I guess ive been lucky it sounds with one deer and a mulitseason in only like 4 years of applying. Who knows now though as i started to apply for better tags...
-
Oh, I wasn't thinking about Multi-Season tags. I got drawn for one of those a couple of years ago for deer. Didn't find out until after the archery season had been going for a week though >:(
Wound up filling it on a so-so 3X3 mulie, so probably wasn't worth the $$. Still, it was nice to have it in my pocket during archery elk season. Passed up a couple of legal bucks while elk hunting.
-
I drew doe tags two years in a row and forgot to apply last year.
-
NEVER. Idaho over-the-counter is sounding better and better every year
-
NEVER. Idaho over-the-counter is sounding better and better every year
I'm thinking that's gonna be my plan for 2010. I'd like to chase something with antlers...
-
I know 4 people who have drawn toutle with 3 or less points, and 1 person who has drawn it twice, neither time with more than 3 points, he also drew the margaret with 4 points, yet I can't draw an elk tag. :police: :ACRY:
-
I have drawn twice in five years. Others in my party have had similar results.
-
For Elk. Never......The way things happen In this state I probably never will.
-
3 times for me
-
For Elk. Never......The way things happen In this state I probably never will.
aw come on ross you gotta at least try to stay positive, just do like me and get your hope way way up every year so your nice and set up for the big let down :chuckle:
-
2 archery bull tags for me
-
which archery tags phool? I drew a muzzy once
-
I drew Toutle the second year and again a few years later.
-
I drew little naches twice (1990, 2001) alkali (2003)
-
I drew a cow tag in the old Napavine unit in 1980!!!
Nothing since then. :bash:
I did draw a multi-season deer this year. It looks out of place with all the NOT SELECTED deer, elk, goat, moose, bear, sheep, turkey, multi-season elk and prior multi-season deer.
This should make some of you feel better that have drawn recently.
But I got to thinking of all the money I have spent applying :yike:
There is still this year!!!!
-
Drawn one for a Toutle Bull tag. Had 9 points for that one. Was a fun hunt. I got my father his first bull elk. Was a good family hunt. 3 of got a tag. Good times.
-
38 years and one bull permit...ya, we should go to permit only so I would never hunt. >:(
What? It's only been 15 years since it went to spike only. How is that possible? I think someone is :liar:
-
me and my hunting partner have been drawn for
-
1998 Margret
2000 Desert
2004 toutle and entiat
2007 multiseason deer and elk
1991 goat permit foss river
