Title: Stare down
Post by: aclark on November 20, 2022, 07:58:15 PM: So I run cameras in a lot of local spots and this buck showed up on a Thursday and I decided Friday when I checked it that I’d go after him, well fast forward, I had a little pile of apples out in front of a cam I had at a trail intersection. I went in with a Turkey vest and a crossbow since it’s a firearm restricted unit and I heard bushes moving within a few minutes of sitting down, then I heard what I thought was a tree falling then the clash of antlers made it all make sense. 2 bucks were fighting 50 yards away and I was ready, then silently the winner of the fight snuck in and immediately picked me up, it was 5 minutes of pure adrenaline and he made a fatal mistake of walking forward 3 steps to leave and I sent one through the lungs. So grateful to have gotten him!
