Post by: Webfoot on December 17, 2022, 05:19:56 PM
What is the proper way to measure barrel length?

From end of barrel  to where?

To the other end! Seriously it is measured from the breech face.

Stick cleaning rod down barrel mark at muzzle, measure it.

On a Remington or others similar, from the little hole in the side of the action to the muzzle will put you pretty darn close.

So with the cleaning rod method I assume the end down the barrel goes against the bolt face on a closed bolt.
The reason I am trying to figure this out is that I have a Ruger M77 MK11 in 300 WSM that I am not sure what the barrel length is.
