Title: Obama Names SCOTUS Nominee
Post by: Bean Counter on May 26, 2009, 12:02:48 PM: Since she was originally nominated to the circuit court by President George H.W. Bush, I'm wondering if Justice Sotomayor may not be so bad for the RKBA. However, Bush 41 did nominate Justice Souter--not exactly a gun owners best friend.

Post by: Machias on May 26, 2009, 01:54:05 PM: 7 of the current 9 justices were appointed by Republican Presidents. 2 turned out to be very liberal so just because a Republican nominates someone is no cause for celebration. This one is very liberal, but she is replacing a liberal so the balance remains the same 5-4. Once the balance shifts, then we will have to be very scared....very scared!!
