Title: Commissioners Smith and Baker Nat resource conformation hearings

Thanks for your message. I am well aware there is a problem. That’s why I introduced SB 5675 this session.

Unfortunately, the bill was not given a hearing, so it will not advance this year. I will try again next year and I will certainly keep my eye out for all appointments or reappointments to the F&W Commission to ensure they comply with the requirements of the law, and if they don’t, I will not vote to confirm them.

Senators L. Wilson, Boehnke, Dozier, King, MacEwen, Schoesler,
Short, and Wagoner are signed onto this bill, they should all be encouraged to push it next year!!

This bill is well meaning but is NOT a good bill. It is actually a poison pill that would create a buffer between the governor, and the Nat resources committee. Both of which are run by anti hunters. It is foolish to think that these same 2 parties would vote for something that diminished their power. Im actually kind of surprised this didnt move farther forward, but Im glad it didnt.
