Title: Spring Snows in Sakatchewan, May 2009
Post by: GrouseBane on May 31, 2009, 10:38:33 PM
Attached is a few pic's from the 4 day hunt in Kelvington Saskatchewan, May 2009 with 3 of my hunting buddies.  194 dead snow geese, I took 62 with the mossy 935 and black clouds.  FYI, for spring snows I had some on here recommend #2's but bb's did much better.  These skittish buzzards had been shot at for the last 9 months from the arctic to Texas and back.   There was little to no cover for us so close 30 yard shots over the decoys were sparse and the 50-70 yard hail-Mary shots more the norm.  The outfitter running the lodge was a bust but the guides were top notch.  We had 2 guys from Cali.  Kenny runs a guide service back at his home in Sacramento area and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.  "Dawn to Dusk" guide service in Anderson Cal.  Sets a good spread and knows his stuff.

Regards, Mike

How many cased of shells did you guys go through?  Looks like fun.  Who was the unlucky one that got to clean all those geese?
