Been planning my first Turkey hunt for weeks now. Its finally here. Got home from work and loaded up my truck. Headed south in the morning to meet a buddy up in the hills for the weekend. Although technically I got out for one day last spring, this will be both our first turkey hunts. Been reading this forum like crazy and talking to members for tips and pointers. Just wanted to Post a thank you to everybody on this forum for all the tips and pointers. Hopefully Ill have a happy update to post Monday night when I get home!

I have to admit if I had been where Im going before I would have left tonight. But I dont know the area so I thought it best to roll into camp at sunrise and go from there. My buddy has never been to where we are going either, so I have to set up camp real quick and start scouting for Saturday. Win or lose Turkey or no Turkey this weekend Im just happy to be going and literally can not wait. A few years ago I was going to leave to hunt Southern Idaho for Wolf and spread my dads ashes at his deer camp and planned everything out to leave my place at midnight but wound up leaving at 10pm instead. I was so excited I couldnt even sleep. Thats the same feeling im having tonight. Thankfully the I have a little bit of whiskey to talk me off the ledge of leaving tonight. Cant wait to get donw there!
