I went to put out my Bushnell Scout... it takes an SD card... so does my Canon S5IS...
So... I set the cam up and take a couple pics... then pop the card in my Canon and it says card error... Put it back in the bushnell and all is well and its shows it has 2 images on it...
Then, I put the SD from my cam in there and the camera just freezes up...both red lights come on and stay on and the LCD readout screen just stays blank...
Put the other SD card back in...and all is good... But... it doesn't work in my canon??
I think maybe my canons card is a high capacity or something??? and the bushnell must use a different format...
Any ideas????
Thanks
By the way... got two cams up this weekend... psyched!

WHAT size is the SD, some of the newer SDs are the 4GB ones that are slightly different than the earlier ones...UHD ones do NOT read the same as the smaller ones (2Gb and down). I have 2 at home that neither of my older cameras will recognize.

Your Canon, like my Nikon probably uses/requires an SDHC memory card and they are not interchangeable.
look at your card, most of them will have a logo that looks like this, sd over the top of HC SD
HC

the formatting between the trailcam and the canon is different. when the cards work in the trail cam and the regular camera it is just coincidence. trail cam photo viewers are able to read multiple formats. it has nothing to do with the size of the card or anything.
there's a couple threads on here re: this topic.

I'll check those threads....
The thing that was wierd...was I'd take the 2 gb out of the game cam...put in the canon... it would say card error...I'd then reformat it in the canon...and all was well... then I'd stick it in the bushnell and it would work fine... then... I'd slap it back in the canon and it would be card error again....
Yeah..the one I use in the canon is an SDHC 4 gb...
Anyhow..I guess I have to get a reader eh?? And fast too...!!!! :dunno:

I view my cam cards on my Canon as well.
Maybe you removed the card or pushed a button while it was processing? Try putting the SD card in your pc and reformatting it.

I had a crappy SD card/trail cam situation today. :bash:
Apparently my cam thinks my card is either locked or bad depending on it's mood. I found a deer track and a 5 inch wide bear track on the trail only feet from my cam and no pic. :bash:
I put a new card in and it said it was locked. Turned the cam off and on and it seemed fine. I guess I will find out in a week.
