Has there always been a charge for 15 year olds? My son's 14, system said he needed to buy a 15 year old reduced price license. Just when I thought it couldn't get more confusing.

It’s a very stupid rule that pleases no one.
14 and under is free. 15 has to buy a cheap license. 16 full price.

Must be whatever year they turn 15, my son is 14 with a few months to his birthday and he still got hit with the 15 when I bought yesterday, so he'll lose a year of the free.
I believe hunting is what age they are when you buy the license, or at least I'm hoping he gets another year as a youth.

I think it depends on when your birthday falls. Last year I went to buy my fishing license and I was hoping for the old guy price. But since I didn't grow older until Sept it was a full-bore cost. Bought it yesterday and the computer had already said it was at the reduced price. I don't see what the reduced rate is for 15?

$6 something plus fees, $8 something total if I remember right.
