Title: Yakima River Springers Report
Post by: Chanes8CWU on May 11, 2023, 02:25:29 PM
Anyone have one? Thinking of hitting this in a buddies jet boat/drift boat out of either above or below Wanawish Dam. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Wanted to see if anyone was getting into the springers. Thanks!

I had planned on going the 1st weekend of June, so hopefully they are in by that point. Has anyone done the float from Benton City to the Duportail Bridge? How long is it? Is there a chute at the Wanawish Damn? Looking at google earth cant tell if its passable by drift boat.

I have a place in Prosser that I was visiting yesterday and I drove over the Yakima there in town and noticed it was quite high and brown...probably not ideal fishing right now!

Flash flood warnings on the Naches and Tieton last week... Ask Bone... I counted 58 flashes in 60 seconds, and it wasn't an exceptional 60 seconds during that hour... to my North, over his house!

The naches is pouring a ton of mud into the Yakima.   Not too bad above that the last I looked.   We have had some tremendous rains and thunderstorms the last couple days.   I'd skip the fish and go look for shrooms.

Yeah that was some surreal end of the world type stuff.   What a storm

I had to get my kid out of bed so she could see it. Only seen it like that one other time, on top of a mountain in Colorado. Except that time we were in the clouds and it was way, way scarier  :chuckle:

It was crazy of our place. Never seen lightning like that, but there wasn’t the thunder I thought I should hear. I have some good video but think it’s too big to post.

I’ll get a minute of my wife’s video, the thunder was constant… it just never stopped.
