Title: recruiting a fishing buddy for a summer of golden trout searching.

I've got a few lakes that require some stupid hiking that are supposed to have held golden trout... could use a fishing buddy.

I don't know of any localish lakes that should hold the goldens, unless someone wants to share some secrets with me.

I've been to about 30 lakes over the years that either hold goldens or they were planted there or rumored to exist there.  None are easy to get to for the most part.  I'm not the expert in it but will help someone out if they want.  Back in the 80's and 90's when I became interested in them I talked to the local biologist.  I think his name was Curt.  He would give me the name of a couple lakes and I would report back to him what I found.  He would give me a few more...  etc.  They were always worried that if Fishing and Hunting News or someone got the list they would write a story about them or publish the lake names.

By the way, don't even try it until late july or august as all golden lakes are still snowed over.  I have at least one lake with goldens I'm going to hit asap in early august.  I'll bring my camera...

Yeah I understand the secretive nature of everything with them, I've been pouring over old fish studies and such (mostly north cascades), cross referencing this with that and the other...  still in my planning.

Would you mind a partner in aug?

That might be possible.  I need to get to this lake this year before they kill off all the fish...

well, looks like I'm not going to have as much time as I'd hoped for the search.

Anyone able to offer pointers (general area, lake names, etc...) as stated in my help me go hunting threads if you lead me to a place I treat it as your place.
