I have some salmon in a typical brown sugar brine now….. looked like some freezer burn was starting so smok’em up.
Last few batches I used traegar Bold Blend pellets (hickory & cherry) which seemed ok, but curious what you use and why. Thx!

I've used an Apple blend and alder; I like the apple the best but that's my preference.
-
I only use alder to smoke fish. Harder to find in stores these days, so I made a big order online a while back.
-
I e been using Myron Mixon pellets and like them.
-
I've tried a bunch of different pellets. I prefer just plain alder. I think ACE in Gig Harbor has it in smaller bags.

Thanks for the responses. Today I used Traegar Bold which is a hickory / Cherry blend. Came out GREAT!

Those traeger pellets while mass produced and cheap are not very good pellets. Do a little research for pellets actually made out of wood and that provide better btu.

🤑🤑🤑 smoked salmon. You can’t go wrong with alder, apple, pecan, and hickory. 50/50 hick an apple is nice as well as oak or apple/oak. Thin blue smoke “TBS” 😉🥃🇺🇸

I really like apple pellets. Last bag I purchased from Sportsmen's Warehouse. I use apple for everything!

I use any fruit wood I happen to have on hand.
